How to fail successfully
Everything that happens to you is the best thing possible. This is our mentality. We can not be defeated. To Moon is our destiny. We believe in WATERCAT!
How it all started
This is our first project. We might be inexperienced in some areas, but we are eager to learn. The website was ready. The telegram was ready. The token contract was ready and tested locally. It was time to deploy it on the mainnet of BSC.
Immediately after deploying, without any advertising, people started joining our Telegram. The contract’s source code contained links to the webpage and to the telegram channel, and apparently there’s people actively scanning new deployed contracts. We started growing organically without even trying. We announced in Telegram that we would open the Pre-Sale at 200 members. Just 4 hours after, we were ready at DXSale.
The first Pre-Sale was a successful fail!
We started announcing the WATERCAT Pre-Sale and everyone was really hyped, to the point that we sold out instantly 100 BNB worth in less than 2 seconds. The hype was unreal. There was a bug in the contract code, not allowing quantities over 5000 WATERCATs to be transferred. It’s actually a feature, but okay, let’s say it wasn’t helping us in this specific situation. DXSale automated process couldn’t send people their WATERCAT because some people had bought more than 5000 WATERCAT worth. People were not able to claim their WATERCAT and were screaming of a rugpull and a scam. We tried really hard to fix it, but after reviewing every line of code, understood that it was not possible, there was no way to change it after deployment.
We asked DXSale to refund everyone, and they obliged, only 3 hours after. We are extremely grateful to DXSale’s team.
Aftermath of the first Pre-Sale
The relief that it was not a scam was amazing, many people couldn’t believe it. We started gaining the WATERCAT’s Community trust. We couldn’t let them down a second time.
We worked hard on fixing the contract bugs, and rushed to add a lot of missing functionality. You can see the difference in our contract’s source code by clicking here. We tested for hours every aspect of the contract. Everything seemed to be working in the testnet.
In the meantime, our Community kept growing, up to 500 Telegram members were ready and waiting for the 2nd Pre-Sale. The hype was unreal.
The second Pre-Sale was a successful fail as well!
We tested for like 20 hours in the last 2 days, making sure we’d not fail again. Just 30 minutes before the Pre-Sale, the Community was very insisting in us locking the Team Tokens. We did, and people were trusting us even more. The Pre-Sale went up and it was over in less than a second. We even decreased the maximum contribution per wallet from 2 BNB to 1 BNB, but it didn’t help much. Too many people wanted WATERCAT to be successful!
The PanCakeSwap listing went online 45 minutes after the Pre-Sale, and people could only buy, not sell, due to another contract bug.
For what seemed like an eternity, we were desperately trying to fix it, and were being accused of being a honeypot scam. We didn’t even know what that meant, but we soon figured it out. With the help of the community, we fixed the issue, but the hype died, and people dumped their WATERCATs as soon as possible.
Aftermath of the second Pre-Sale
All the fudders are out, all the dumpers are out. Only fellow WATERCATs remain. Everything in the contract is now working correctly. We are a strong community, with strong morals and values. We’ve gone through an amazing and wild launch. We believe in our Community. We’ve made a ton of good friends. The Community believes in us and trusts us. There is only one place where we can go.
Why now is the best time to buy
The team has gained the respect from the Community. Maybe not as experienced blockchain developers, but as honest people who can get their shit together and will never stop trying. We have now proven ourselves as trusted and honest people.
It doesn’t matter where we are, it only matters where we are going!
